A fair number of weeks back now Andrew and I ventured back into the New Forest, accompanied by my brother, Jody and his wife Gina. We had a marvellous weekend with a fair bit of sightseeing, fun and laughter. With a good selection of food thrown in :)
So I will let the photo’s speak for themselves:
Forest Fungi |
More Forest Fungi |
and some more |
got to love that forest fungi |
Shocking focus but patiently waiting for me to finish photographing THAT FOREST FUNGI!! |
and a whole fungi city |
and from the other side |
those little midgets all over, couldn't photoshop them out! |
so a view from the top instead |
take a guess |
really old tree roots |
food source for something |
a lovely bright yellow one :) |
Fungi at the High Corner Inn !! not for lunch by the looks of it |
A walk on the moors |
Deciding on a path |
And just what i was hoping we would spot. Lucky for us Andrew spooked them from underneath the crab apple tree. |
Looking back |
and skipping over the ridge |
View from the 'summit' |
and another stag !! |
Gina's home-crafted Martini -using olives from some antipasto! Apparently still tasted good. I wonder if the garlic gave it an extra boost |
Forest track |
a bevy of beauties |
and another large fungi |
As I did last time we went to the New Forest, Gina wished to see the beach. So we made our way to Mudeford Quay. Naturally Gina wanted to wet her feet :) | |||||||||
Sailing, dogs and birds |
On The Rocks !! |
Thoughtfull |
something of interest |
a bucketfull of crabs allowed to return to the sea |
Black Headed Gull in winter plumage |
Lobster pots |
Black Backed Gull in winter plumage |
And to today – We are slowly packing all the necessities for our trip back to New Zealand after 2 years away. Our daughter Robyn is getting hitched and we need to be there to so that I can weep and Andrew can give her away and all the family will be there to see it :)
Really looking forward to seeing our girls and being able to give them a proper hug instead of a virtual one. Not looking forward to the actual flight but it has to be done!
So that is where we all are for now
